Mediohone has been started bu Religare technologies in a partnership with the telecom operator Airtel. Religare Technologies is a public listed IT services firm> religarre Technologies is of the diversified business group led by Malvinder and Shivinder Singh. Fortis Healthcare which is a part of the Religare group will be the knowledge partner and will be the one giving medical assistance to the Airtel mobile users. Airtel has stated that they receive about a thousand calls on a weekly basis.
This service by Airtel and religare is basically menat for non life threatening diseases and events but the team is capable to handle emergencies. The team will guide the caller on how they can get a treatment at the nearest medical centre. The fees charged for this service by Airtel will Rs 35 per consultation. These consultation charges are minimal when compared to what a Physician charges. Airtel prepaid customers can recharge their accounts and then pay this consultation fee. If the airtel Subscriber is too ill and cannot move out of his house then he can online recharge his airtel prepaid card and avail these services. Online mobile recharge is very quick and easy to be done. It just takes a few seconds to recharge mobile online. These few seconds by online mobile recharge are very precious while one is ill.
To avail these services an Airtel mobile subscriber has to call 54445 from his airtel mobile and have Balance in his mobile prepaid account. As of now, the service is available in the circles of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, J&K and Himachal Pradesh but Airtel plans to extend the service across India.
It may be noted that this is not the first time that a service provider and a medical institution has come together for a health mobile service. Earlier a similar service was offered by Aircel with a partnership with Apollo’s Tele Triage. the charges for this was Rs 45 . Earlier, Religare Technologies had set up a phone and Web-based health information service called Healthline 24×7 aimed at helping callers with locations and directions of the appropriate medical service.
